BOSMAL actively came on stream in the Polish automotive sector in 1972, commencing its operation as an engineering and testing/development back-up facility of the former FSM factory (Small Car Factory) in Bielsko-Biała.

With effect from 5.1.2010, as a result of direct privatization, "Automotive Research & Development Center BOSMAL " was transformed into an employee-owned company taking the name "BOSMAL  Automotive Research & Development Institute Ltd"

The company specializes in research & development and production activities for domestic and foreign companies, mainly automotives, such as:

• testing of cars, engines, cars parts and assemblies (functionality, durability, electrical and electronic tests) and materials (metals, plastics, rubbers, glasses and fluids)
• engineering calculations, design and mathematical analyses, engineering services for production
• construction of control-measuring apparatus, gauges, technological tooling and workshop aids for production lines, master models, mock-ups and prototypes,
• standardization, patent and homologation support.

The testing laboratory is certified to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards and was accredited in 1997. The laboratory has a Accreditation Certificate of Testing Laboratory no. AB 128.
Furthermore, the company has an integrated management system (Quality and Environment Management Systems) certified for conformity with the following standards: PN-EN ISO 9001:2009 and PN-EN ISO 14001:2005.
